fabric pairs 05/03/2010
I guess I am blogging my quilt. Maybe that will get my butt working on it! Or maybe I'm just feeling extra energetic today because of a super-short faculty meeting. Anyway, I've picked out my fabric pairs for my Mixtape Quilt. There are 8 pairs, and some of my fabrics repeat since I couldn't find 16 matching prints that I liked. I had to order almost all of it from Etsy, because my tiny town doesn't have a fabric shop unless you count WalMart. And I don't count WalMart. ![]() So, here are my 8 pairs, in order: Most of these prints are from the Nature-ology collection by Studio E. I also threw in a few other prints, and that blank spot is for a lovely Amy Butler Gypsy Caravan print that is no longer in production. I couldn't even find an image for it! So just imagine a cool blue with taupe and splashes of maroon and yellow. It's gorgeous, I swear. The order of this mosaic is important. Column 1 is the "primary" fabric for the pair, while Column 2 is the "secondary" fabric. This will be important when making my blocks. My next step is to cut all the fabric into the different sized rectangles. I'd like to do it this weekend, but life happens, you know. tomato flowers 05/03/2010
![]() It doesn't take much to excite me, so imagine my surprise when I came home today to a tiny, yellow bud on my Roma tomato plant. Yay! It even looks like the ones on Google Image Search, so it's official! Of course, it's been a while since I've posted pictures, so here we go: The bell pepper situation still has me a little worried, but I've got a couple more in a pot that just may do better. Look at that zucchini, too! I'm thinking we might see a bud or two on those soon. It's been downright hot since Friday, and we had a good rain last night, so I think it's finally time for the plants to start really growing. I hope they enjoy the warm nights, because I sure don't. | ArchivesMay 2010 Categories |
