EXPERIENCE
2006-Present: Washington & Lee University Telford Science Library | Lexington, Virginia
Science Librarian: Develops and implements operations for the Telford Science Library, including collection development, instruction, reference, web development, and outreach to students and faculty. Also provides reference service in the main library, Leyburn Library, as well as serving on several committees pertaining to University Library services and resources. Co-chair of Instruction Committee, which oversees and develops library instructional services for students as well as instructional materials. Collection development projects in the Telford Science Library include a large-scale weeding of the general collection, developing a long-term weeding plan for the general collection, and a periodicals review and conversion to as many electronic periodicals as possible. Served on the steering committee for assessment for SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) reaccreditation to develop an institutional survey as well as tools for continual assessment. Supervises one paraprofessional and indirectly supervises a team of students who staff the circulation desk. University committee memberships include the Writing Program Advisory Committee and the Information Technology Advisory Committee
2001-2005: Eckerd College Library | Saint Petersburg, Florida
Science Reference/Interlibrary Loan Librarian: Took on many different roles as librarian, including regular reference hours, formal instruction of science students and faculty, collection development in the sciences, scholarly research, and participation in internal and external committees. Supervised staff and students in the Interlibrary Loan department, including a graduate intern from the local university. Used daily experiences to advise library policymakers on public service and collection issues. Served as a faculty member, teaching regularly in the General Education program, participating in faculty committees, and serving as an evaluator on the Writing Committee.

Graduate Intern: As graduate intern, organized specialized scientific materials into a usable library, including a web-based catalog. Created a specialized classification system for a collection with a very specific subject range, and created a searchable database for users to quickly locate library materials. Also performed reference and instructional duties.
2001: Tampa Bay Library Consortium | Tampa, Florida
Assistant Cataloger: Assisted in electronic cataloging project for academic and public libraries in the Tampa Bay area, using OCLC software.
